Australia is currently dealing with a fire much larger than the fire California faced earlier last year and what the Amazon faced. The fires began in September and destroyed more than 1,300 homes and acres of natural land. The fire, which is engulfing the east coast of the country, is described as “virtually impossible to contain.
hris Brown is one of the latest celebrities to help spread awareness of what is happening, with an Instagram post of a viral message about the destruction the fire is leaving in its path. The message on the screen details how 400 million hectares were destroyed and more than 500 million animals died.
NBA player Ben Simmons, who is from Australia, went to Twitter to share words about his country and its tragic state. “I am so sad about the loss our country is currently facing. The images of fires, people, families, firefighters and wildlife are nothing short of terrifying. 12 million acres of destroyed land, lost human lives, animals being wiped out and misplaced with ruined homes and communities and that number keeps increasing daily, ”he wrote.
