Now for some people the name Anna Wintour brings on nervous facial twitches, panic induced shits and repeating phone fiddling. these are the good people who work at vogue.
but vogue are opening the doors at their head quarters to let the lowely civilians such as you and i into their world for the film/docu, the september issue.
opening in cinemas on the 11th of september i have yet to see it. But i am wondering how much of the film is actually about vogue and how much of it is anna wintour validating the whole devil wears prada thing. maybe she had a big brother moment and decided to let the nation see the real her like, you , know like?
whatever the reason, the september issue could be interesting. the real reason for the interest is of course the clothes. but also the relationship between anna wintour and grace coddington who is also a legendary vogue-r. apparently they love to hate each other. interesting........ also according to the insiders miss wintour is not too impressed that grace has come off better then her. apparently grace steals the show because she literally does not give too shits. legend.
miss wintour is famously the person that the devil wears prada was based on, and i don't mean anne hathaway's character. miss wintour and her withering glare are world famous. I say just because a woman is successful at her business does not mean she is a complete bitch all the time like the media would like her portrayed. lets just cut some slack here as miss wintour is top of her game and i for one consider vogue, the bible of fashion so, she can't be going too far wrong right?
i will be trotting to review very soon so hold onto your cinema trips friends, i will of course be posting a full review here very very soon.
you can run miss wintour, but you can't hide behind your massive sunglasses if this film is a flop.....MAJOR embarrassment.....
and if miss wintour has not wetted your hunger for such magazine/fashion adventures. and the massively disapointing new series of ugly betty (is anyone out there still watching this???? seriously. no judgement.) then check out the new series featuring that girl who played sugar on channel four's lesbian teen romp sugar rush. (which they should never have cancelled series three for big brother - just saying like) so if anyone can find out the channel its on, tape it for me.
but it's called material girl. it just seems a bit weird to see that girl playing a young designer trying to make it big instead of a teenage chav/lesbian on channel four. it's based on imogen edward thomas's book. fashion babylon. so if you enjoyed that, you'll love this.
