The queen bee, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s beautiful visage makes her an apt fit for her profession. Who needs external light when their skin is so radiant and luminescent, right? While this might not be true for a lot of professional actors today, but it certainly is true for the Begum. And her ethereal beauty is definitely not a product of any cosmetic embellishment.
How can we say that with so much certainty? Well, Bebo looks amazing everywhere, be it onscreen or off-screen, be it in the occasional paparazzi pics as she is leaving the gym or in the high-budget movies she stars in.
Who wouldn’t want to look like her in their 30s? Yes, this diva is actually in her late 30s! Curious to know the age-defying beauty regimen of this yummy mummy, we did some digging to uncover her skincare secrets and this is what we found:
- She Believes In The Mantra Of Hydration
Discussing her skincare regimen with a leading magazine, Bebo revealed that though she doesn’t use a lot of products, she does have a basic skincare routine in place. She confessed that her skin was a little dry, and for that reason, she moisturizes it with a moisturizer of her choice before going to bed every night. She explained that doing so allowed her skin to soak in the nutrients and repair itself. She also uses a hydrating skin mask once a week. Along with this, she spritzes her face with a hydrating mist when it becomes too hot outside. Her main mantra for skincare is hydration, so she also made it a point that she includes three litres of water in her diet.
- She Doesn’t Believe In Strict Diets
Further discussing the topic of special diets, Kareena explained that she doesn’t believe in going on stringent diets because according to her, when one follows a very strict diet, they become all the more inclined to break it and binge eat. This can inevitably lead to more breakouts on their skin. She also said that in her case, she sticks to having three wholesome meals to keep her skin in picture perfect condition.
Quite a sensible reasoning, don’t you think?
- She Swears By This Oil To Maintain The Health Of Her Skin
Now, coming to her secret home remedies. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that Kareena trusts this humble home ingredient for her skincare — almond oil.
A DIY face pack of almond oil and yogurt is her go-to remedy for dry skin.
Almond oil has always been a popular ingredient in home remedies for skin care, and considering the host of benefits that it provides us with there’s no questioning that even Bebo loves to use it. And if you still want to know what this miraculous oil can do for your skin, read on!
The Miracle Worker: Almond Oil’s Skin Benefits
- Packed with nutrients like vitamins E, B, and A, Almond oil moisturizes skin from within by locking its moisture content. It also improves one’s complexion by imbuing their skin with a warm glow.
- If you have stubborn dark circles, then you should massage the area under your eye with almond oil before going to bed. Vitamin E present in the oil will replenish the skin under your eyes, and remove the dark circles with regular use.
- Almond oil is also useful in treating skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis (1).
- It has antioxidative properties which allow it to protect the skin against sun damage. A study has found that not only can sweet almond oil prevent early damage done by the UV rays, but it can also help undo that damage (2).
And you can even use it as a makeup remover. The moisturizing properties of the oil and its light consistency make it an ideal choice for the function of removing makeup. It will remove makeup without clogging your pores and at the same time make sure that your skin doesn’t lose its moisture content.
With these many benefits, it’s no surprise that this oil is in charge of Bebo’s skincare regime. Now you too can get glowing, radiant skin like hers by making it a part of your skincare. Ideally, you shouldn’t be using almond oil as a topical moisturizer for your skin, though you can use it as a carrier oil to dilute other essential oils. You can also consume 2–4 tablespoons of warm sweet almond oil (it should be extracted from sweet almonds and should be completely organic) to hydrate your skin from within.
However, if you have any allergies, or if you have a sensitive digestive system, we would advise you to consume it only after you’ve consulted with your doctor. Do you use almond oil for your skin? How do you apply it? If you know of any skin care remedies that make use of almond oil as an ingredient, please share them with us in the comments section.
